Playful. Fresh. Contemporary. Casual – that’s me and that’s Marta Madelaine. I am a contemporary portrait and wedding photographer and artist in Vancouver, BC. I have been taking pictures for fifteen years, starting with mainly travel, architecture and nature photography. While planning my own wedding in 2008 I discovered a new-to-me genre of modern, on location portraiture with which I fell in love. Alongside graphic design (my other profession for the last ten years), portrait photography became a new passion of mine. I shoot portraits on location using only natural light − no complicated set-ups, just me and my camera.
I describe my photographic style as casual and relaxed, but also contemporary and fresh. I’m inspired by shapes, colours, and textures found in nature and love the simplicity of modern design and pattern. I wish for my photographs to tell an authentic, fun, and interesting story about you and your family and the special places you choose for you portraits and celebrations, like your home, favourite park, or the wedding venue you carefully chose because it represented everything you wanted to share with your guests.
